LED wall washer light, as the name suggests, makes the light wash the wall like water. It is mainly used for architectural decoration lighting and also used to outline large buildings. LED has the characteristics of energy saving, high luminous efficiency, rich color, long life, etc., so in 2013, other light source wall washer lights were gradually replaced by LED wall washer lights.
The LED wall washer light is also called LED linear wall washer, etc., for its long strip shape, some people call it LED linear light whose technical parameters are similar to bright LED flood lights. Compared with the circular structure of the LED flood light, the LED wall washer light uses waterproof and breathable valve to solve the problem of balanced pressure difference and waterproofing between the inside and outside of the lamp. At the same time, the strip-shaped heat sink is better to handle.
Like ordinary diodes, light-emitting diodes are composed of a PN junction, and they also have unidirectional conductivity. When the forward voltage is applied to the light-emitting diode, the holes in the N region are injected from the P region and the electrons in the P region from the N region are recombined with the electrons in the N region and the holes in the P region within a few microns of the PN junction, which produces spontaneous emission of fluorescence. The energy states of electrons and holes in different semiconductor materials are different. When electrons and holes recombine, the energy released is somewhat different. The more energy released, the shorter the wavelength of the emitted light. Commonly used are diodes that emit red, green or yellow light. The reverse breakdown voltage of the light-emitting diode is greater than 5 volts. Its forward volt-ampere characteristic curve is very steep, and a current-limiting resistor must be connected in series to control the current through the diode.
The power module of the LED wall washer light is installed inside the housing, and the space is limited. In order to save space, some manufacturers solder pin-type components on the PCB. This approach is unacceptable. These surface-welded pin components are likely to fall off due to false welding and other reasons, causing danger. Therefore, socket welding should be adopted as much as possible for these components. If surface welding is unavoidable, it is necessary to provide additional protection for this component by fixing it with glue.
